Educare’s innovative partnership between the public and private sectors creates a compelling platform to drive change among policymakers, business leaders, and early childhood providers by showing what quality early education looks like. More than seven years of partnership with the Gates Foundation, Thrive Washington, and the Washington State Department of Early Learning has resulted in establishing the Educare School of Greater Seattle and the development of the Educare Platform for Change (PFC).
Lessons learned through Educare activities and PFC initiatives have informed national, statewide, regional, and local systems such as:
Tiered Quality Rating and
Improvement System (TQRIS)
Child care subsidies
Whole child approach
Assessment and data
Expansion of other services
Like Educare schools across the country, Educare Seattle also serve as platforms for change, reaching beyond Educare’s four walls to boost the quality and effectiveness of programming for children in other settings while also serving as a “showroom for quality” in which lawmakers, business leaders and others can learn about the wisdom of investing in the first five years.
