Educare is a “Partnership” of philanthropists, PSESD Head Start and Early Head Start, Highline School District, University of Washington, and other community partners committed to supporting Educare’s high-quality standards. All of Educare’s partnerships represent a vast and dedicated group of individuals and organizations that are committed to the purpose of making sure every child is prepared for school when they enter kindergarten and to eliminate the opportunity gap for children in their communities.
One of Educare’s many purposes is to draw attention to the possibilities of leveraging existing resources more effectively. To support Educare’s comprehensive services, multiple funding streams are braided together in innovative ways. This public-private collaboration includes state and local education funding, Head Start and Early Head Start funds, child care public assistance, parent co-payments, and support from individual donors, foundations, and corporations.
Educare’s partnership with local school districts and community P-3 educators is fulfilling Educare’s vision of preparing children and their families for success in school, reinforcing Educare’s message that children are born learning and the importance of re-envisioning a public education system that begins at birth.
